Teaching is a way of life that is both challenging and rewarding. I must acknowledge that teaching is a very demanding and prioritized living that not all are suited for. I realize that I will face many barriers in my teaching but that it is truly the place where I want to be. My attitude towards this life-journey is very positive and I truly believe that I will learn as much if not more from the children I will encounter each day. Teaching can also be very beautiful when we witness all the friendships being made, the achievements building confidence, and hard times making a person stronger. This truly works for students as well as for teachers. That is why I believe technology can help us achieve and learn from others as we grow in a larger educational network. Everything I learned from this class will be so helpful in helping me build my circle of learning with, not only the whole world, but with the learners inside my very own classroom. I will ensure that my students can learn important and useful tools on the internet. They deserve every opportunity to discover their own qualities inside the very environment they feel most at ease. I want to be the kind of teacher that no longer teaches the subject but the teacher who provokes the thought and the interest to learn in a student.
Every child is different, and therefore; learns at his or her own pace. Going into Arts Education, my goal with be to help the child achieve at his or her own pace. Our society has become so fast-paced that it often forgets what is important in life. I think that what is important is the knowledge of the things that matter most to you and that you have time to learn properly. I want my students to achieve what they work for and I believe that giving them the tools that the internet offers for the Arts is immense. The students can learn so much from observing and listening. My teaching philosophy is very inclined towards individual capabilities working with others to make a larger network of knowledge. This semester has been a true eye-opener on technology in education and I have a much stronger concept of what the 2.0 Classroom really is now.
